Psychodrama: A Therapeutic Approach

Psychodrama is an integrative therapeutic approach and paradigm whose primary philosophical underpinning is the belief that any psychotherapeutic intervention should have nothing less than all of human kind in mind and involved. It utilizes role theory, theories of spontaneity and creativity and sociometry.

group peopleThe Psychodrama Training Institute of New York was founded by Robert W. Siroka, PhD in 1968. The Institute currently offers comprehensive training and supervision in psychodrama, Sociometry, group psychotherapy and individual psychotherapy. Our training groups and week-end intensives provide both experiential and didactic learning and are open psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and counselors and educators.

In the training groups, students are given the opportunity to learn and experience a vast array of psychodramatic techniques including doubling, role reversal, scene setting and enactment. All of these approaches enhance our capacity to work more creatively and spontaneously, and can be integrated and utilized in all different theoretical models.

In addition, our staff is available to lead on-site training and demonstrations workshops. For more information, please contact us.
